The interview is your chance to understand how a candidate works, not only what she has done. Keep it relaxed and practical.
Experience
Ask about previous homes: family size, number of children and their ages, and the main duties. Ask why she left each position.
Daily routine
Describe a normal day in your home and ask how she would organise it. Listen for priorities, not perfect answers.
Care and safety
If you have children or elderly members, ask how she handles a crying infant, medication reminders or an emergency.
Agree on the basics
Before ending, confirm working hours, days off and any house rules so both sides start with the same expectations.
